Asphalt Coatings Company Patches the Parking Lot at Stratford Station in Centennial, Colorado

In an apartment community, the drive lanes carry nearly every trip in and out, and utility lids set into the pavement often become weak spots. At Stratford Station on East Peakview Avenue in Centennial, Asphalt Coatings Company patched the parking lots and drive lanes, then a follow-up visit about a week later showed fresh red and yellow paint on curbs and bollards.

Asphalt Patches Across the Lots

Asphalt Coatings Company placed new asphalt patches at Stratford Station on the first day, from long strips in the drive lanes to squares around utility lids.

Where the Patches Went

  • Drive lanes: long rectangular patches run down the middle of the drive lanes between parking rows.
  • Utility lids: square patches were placed around small utility and valve covers, leaving the lids exposed.
  • Curb edges: some patches run right up to painted curbs and to the concrete apron of a trash enclosure.

Long Strips in the Drive Lanes

Asphalt Coatings Company patches drive lanes with long rectangular repairs. At Stratford Station, the strips follow the center of the lanes between parking rows, where traffic is constant. Replacing a full strip, rather than a series of small spots, gives drivers a continuous surface down the lane.

Square Patches Around Utility Lids

Asphalt Coatings Company patched around utility and valve covers at Stratford Station. Square patches frame each lid while leaving it exposed and accessible. Pavement around a lid can break up as traffic rolls over the edge, so a clean square of new asphalt restores the surface without burying the cover.

Curbs and Bollards a Week Later

Asphalt Coatings Company painted curbs and bollards at Stratford Station after the patching. Photos from a follow-up visit about a week later show fresh paint across the community.

  • Fire-lane curbs: bright red paint covers the curbs around the gravel and tree islands.
  • Fire-lane lines: along a carport wall with no curb, a red line painted on the asphalt marks the fire lane.
  • Bollards: steel bollards at the carport corners were painted yellow.
  • Mailbox curbs: by the mailboxes, yellow paint lines both curbs of the walkway.

Why Curb Paint Follows Patching

Asphalt Coatings Company restores curb and fire-lane paint after pavement repairs. Fire lanes must stay recognizable, and bollards at carport corners need to be visible to drivers backing out. Repainting once the patches are in gives the community a finished look and clear markings at the same time.

At Stratford Station, the red line along the carport wall shows how a fire lane can still be marked where there is no curb to paint.

Taken together, the patching and the paint touch the parts of an apartment lot that residents notice most: the lanes they drive every day, the lids they roll over, and the curbs and posts they park beside.
